UK Slaps Rs 20 Lakh Fine On Republic Bharat Over "Hate Speech"

Ofcom, the UK's broadcasting regulator, has fined Republic Bharat with Rs 20 lakh for spreading hatred towards Pakistanis. The regulator on December 22 imposed fine on Worldview Media Network Limited which holds the license for airing the channel in the UK. The regulator has accused the channel of violating Ofcom Broadcasting Code in its September 6, 2019 episode of 'Poochta Hai Bharat'. It has also asked the channel not to repeat the program.
