UK's Ofcom Fines Khalsa TV With 50,000 Pound For Inciting Violence
UK's media regulator Office of Communications (Ofcom) has imposed a 50,000 pound fine on Khalsa Television Ltd (KTV) for allegedly provoking violence via their programmes. KTV broadcasted a music video 'Bagga and Shera' in 2018 that, reportedly, contained former PM Indira Gandhi's image which Ofcom noted as "advocating violent action against Indian state". Moreover, it also aired discussion programme 'Panthak Masle' (2019) which allegedly incited "commission of crime or lead to disorder".
