UN General-Secretary Antonio Guterres Warns Of 'Global Hunger Crisis' Due To Food Shortage
United Nation's General-Secretary Antonio Guterres warned of a 'catastrophe', due to a global food shortage. He said that, the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change and Russian invasion of Ukraine, have all led to difficulty in accessing food. Furthermore, the rising prices of fertilizers and energy could take a toll on farmers, creating a "global hunger crisis". He said, "there is a real risk that multiple famines will be declared in 2022".
