UN Stands Ready to Support India: Assam Floods

The United Nations has geared up to support the Indian Government to help deal with the damage caused due to the floods in Assam. "The United Nations stands ready to support the Government of India if required," said the spokesperson for the Secretary-General. "Our humanitarian colleagues tell us that nearly 4 million people were displaced in the state of Assam in India," she added.
