UNESCO World Heritage Sites' Tentative List Adds 6 Indian Locations
The culture ministry on May 19 announced that six of the nine proposed Indian places submitted to UNESCO were added to the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The locations are: Satpura Tiger Reserve, ganga ghats in Varanasi, Megalithic site of Hire Benkal, Maratha Military Architecture (Maharashtra), Bhedaghat-Lametaghat in Narmada Valley- Jabalpur and Temples of Kanchipuram. The Archaeological Survey of India has made the submissions for the list.
