Union Govt Announces Rs 1,000 Cr Assistance For WB, Jharkhand, Odisha

After taking an aerial survey of cyclone Yaas–ravaged areas, the Centre has announced an financial aid of Rs 1,000 crore to Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. While Odisha will receive Rs 500-crore grant on an urgent basis, West Bengal and Jharkhand will have to submit damage reports first to avail the assistance. The Centre also announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for the next of family of the deceased.
