UNOCHA Report: Afghanistan Earthquake Results In 155 Children Fatalities
Following terrible earthquake that struck southeast Afghanistan last week, at least 155 children have perished, according to report issued by United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on June 26. The magnitude 6.0 earthquake that struck hilly districts of Paktika and Khost provinces near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, created landslides and wounded 250 children. It killed at least 1150 people, injured more than 1,500, and destroyed more than 10,000 houses.
