US to Ban TikTok and WeChat Over National Security Concerns

The US Department of Commerce officials have disclosed that the country is planning to ban Chinese-owned TikTok and WeChat over concerns of national security. However, the decision could be reversed if ByteDance, which owns TikTok, signs a deal with America’s Oracle Corp to start a new firm, “Tiktok Global”, and secures an approval of President Trump. Reportedly, Trump is expected to review the agreement between the companies before September 20.
