US: Emotional Support Animals Can No Longer Access Free Flights
The US Department of Transport (DOT) has discontinued the facility of emotional support animals as service animals in the airlines. The department took the decision after passengers started "fraudulently representing their pets as service animals" to avoid transport charges. However, only dogs are allowed as service animals since the trained dogs are beneficial for disabled passengers, though the airports can verify their training and health.
