US Looks to Further Defence Ties With the India, Japan and Australia
With the US-China relationships getting murkier, USA is looking to strengthen its defence relations with India, Australia, and Japan. Together, these four countries are also known as 'the quad.' This move has been taken to stand strong against China, and aims at creating strong organisations like North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and European Union. US Deputy Secretary Stephen Biegun said, "The Indo-Pacific region is actually lacking in strong multilateral-structures.”
