US Poet Louise Glück Awarded Nobel Prize In Literature

The Swedish Academy has awarded the Nobel Prize in literature for the year 2020 to American poet Louise Glück. She was awarded for “her unmistakable poetic voice that with austere beauty makes individual existence universal.” The 77-year-old poet has already bagged various literary awards including the Pulitzer prize in 1993. She was also honoured as the US State poet for the year 2003-2004. Her most lauded works are 'The Triumph of Achilles' and 'The Wild Iris'. Currently, Glückn is a professor at Yale University.
