Uttarakhand Announces Monthly Allowance To Children Orphaned To COVID

The Uttarakhand government has decided to provide Rs 3,000 monthly maintenance allowance to the children who lost their parents due to COVID-19. Earmarking 5% horizontal reservation in government jobs, the ‘Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana provisions maintenance until they attain the age of 21. Moreover, making arrangements for education and employment-related training for them, the government also plans to make rules to protect their ancestral property from being sold.
