Weightlifter Gurdeep Singh won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022, in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom. On August 3, Singh secured a third position in the men's 109 plus kg weightlifting competition. Feeling pride, on August 4, PM Narendra Modi congratulated Singh and tweeted, "Hardwork and dedication lead to outstanding outcomes..this is what Gurdeep Singh has shown by winning the bronze medal in weightlifting at the CWG."
