West Bengal: Controversy Stirs As Amit Shah Garlands Wrong Statue
Home Minister Amit Shah, while campaigning for West Bengal assembly elections, has been blamed of disrespecting tribal leader Birsa Munda. Shah was accused of garlanding the wrong statue instead of Birsa Munda's which was considered 'an insult' by the Trinamool Congress and other tribal communities. However, BJP quickly placed a portrait of Munda for which the home minister paid accolades. CM Mamata Banerjee slammed Shah for being ignorant about Bengal's culture.
