A Whale Was Found Injured In A Beach In Bengal

A 35 foot giant humpback whale was found washed up ashore on a beach in Mandarmani, West Bengal on June 29. The whale was covered with blood and injury marks all over its tail. Officials of East Midnapur District and Forest, Wildlife and Fisheries Department are yet to determine the cause for the injuries. Earlier, on May 23, another whale was found in Odisha, with similar injuries.
