Why insurance policies for mental health patients not implemented: SC to IRDA

The Supreme Court has issued notices to the Centre and IRDA seeking the insurance regulatory authority's answer on why were the policies for mental health patients under Section 21 (4) of the Mental Health Act were not implemented till date? The court asked this taking up the petition filed by Advocate Gaurav Kumar Gawai, The three judge bench on Tuesday has now sought IRDA's report on the same and asked it to implement the policies.
