World's First H5N8 Bird Flu Case In Humans Reported In Russia 

The Russian authorities have reported the world's first case of the H5N8 virus strains in humans. Reportedly, the authorities have informed the World Health Organisation about the detection of the virus in poultry farmworkers. However, Russian health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor chief Anna Popova stated, "It is not transmitted from person to person.” While people affected from virus have receded from the mild symptoms, Anna added time will tell how the virus mutates itself in future.
