Yacht Racer Creates World's Largest Sailboat To Clean Ocean Waste
Yacht racer Yves Bourgnon has designed an energy-efficient, probably World’s largest ocean-cleaning sailboat 'Manta’. Made under Bourgnon's 'Seacleaners Project' the 56-meter sailboat will collect and process trash, finally melting into an incinerator to generate energy. Capable of clearing 3-tonnes waste per hour, Manta uses shallow trawler nets to protect sea life. Probably to be built by 2024, Bourgnon believes 400 similar vessels can clear 33% of the ocean’s waste pollution.
