Karnataka's Alcohol Industry Veterans Urge Govt To Revise Excise Duties On Liquor

Veterans of Karnataka's Alcohol Beverages Industry, in a press release, urged the government to revise the excise duties on liquor. Italy Wins Gold, Singapore Silver & Iceland Bronze: IIHM's Young Chef Olympiad Finale

IIHM's 8th edition of the Young Chef Olympiad came to an end. Young chefs from over 50 countries took part in the competition, along with 200 judges and 150 hospitality stalwarts. Italy's Matteo Cignetti was crowned as the Best Young Chef of 2022, and won the coveted gold prize, a digital certificate and a cheque of $5,000. Besides, Singapore's Chong Jia De bagged silver and Iceland's Halldor Haflidason bagged bronze.

IIHM's Young Chef Olympiad Begins; Student Chefs From 40 Countries Compete

IIHM is hosting the eight edition of Young Chef Olympiad, which virtually started on January 30. The five-day culinary battle began on January 31, in which student chefs from over 40 countries competed. The grand finale will be held on February 3 and 4, which will be split into two groups of five countries in each. The finale will reportedly be conducted in different time zones to accomodate all.

Former Punjab MLA, Jasbir Singh Khangura Quits Congress After 20 Years

Jasbir Singh Khangura, former MLA from Qila Raipur in Punjab, quits the Congress party, on January 30. Khangura stated, "This has been a valuable and emotional 20 odd years journey for me and some 60 years for my father who is also resigning concurrently," read the resignation letter. The decision came just weeks ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections 2022. The counting of votes will be done on March 10.
