TMC MP Mahua Moitra's Lawyer Recuse From Case, Delhi HC Adjourns Matter

The Delhi HC hearing Mahua Moitra's defamation suit against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai on Friday, said it was “appalled” with the TMC MP's lawyer for asking Dehadrai to withdraw his complaint before the CBI in exchange for his pet dog. The advocate, Gopal Sankaranarayanan, later recused himself from representing the TMC MP in the case, leading to adjournment till October 31.

Dabur Receives GST Notice Of ₹320.60 Crores, Will Challenge

Homegrown FMCG and Ayurvedic products maker Dabur, confirmed to have received a Goods and Service Tax (GST) demand notice of Rs 320.60 crore. The company will challenge the same based on strong merits by filing its reply before the relevant authorities, Dabur India said in a regulatory filing. “The Company has received intimation of tax ascertained as being payable under Section 74(5) of CGST Act, 2017," read an official statement.

Supreme Court Refuses Marriage Equality Rights To Same Sex In India

The Supreme Court, on October 17, refused to legalize same sex marriage for LGBTQ+ community in India. In the court hearing, the bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, said, in a 3-2 majority, the court said, cannot make laws and it is up to the government to give legal status to marriages between transgender people. SC Rserves Verdict On 26-Week Pregnancy Termination Filed By Married Woman

Recenly, the matter is in talks, after a woman filed a petition, seeking termination of 26 weeks of pregnancy. SC Raises Delay In Adoption Process Issue, Hears Pleas

Terming child adoption a "human thing", the Supreme Court on Friday flagged the issue of "great delay" in the process and said several children are awaiting adoption in hope of a better life. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud-led bench heard pleas,  including one seeking to simplify the legal process for child adoption in India. He said the petitioners have said this process has virtually come to a standstill.
