AAP MP Sanjay Singh Files Petition Challenging Arrest In Delhi Liquor Case

Sanjay Singh, the MP of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) filed a petition in the Delhi High Court (HC) challenging his arrest. Notably , the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Sanjay Singh, in the Delhi liquor scam case. He has also challenged the remand granted to him by the trial court, recently. The court will hear the matter on October 13, confirmed sources.

SpaceX Female Engineer Sues Elon Musk Over Pay Discrimination

SpaceX engineer Ashley Foltz has sued the Elon Musk-run aerospace company, alleging pay discrimination where women and minority employees are being paid less than male and white workers. Foltz said in her proposed class-action lawsuit that she was hired on a $92,000 salary as a base-level engineer, even though men with similar or less experience were offered as much as $115,000, said report. Notably, Ashley was hired in September 2022.

Malvani Doctor Held, Booked Over 2 Rape Complaints: Mumbai

A doctor from Malvani, Yogesh Bhanushali, has been arrested for rape and remanded in judicial custody. Two cases have been filed against him–one on September 27 and the other on Oct 3. Advocate Rafique Gori, representing one of the victims, said they anticipate more victims to come forward. The advocate said Bhanushali followed a distinct pattern. He contacted women through Instagram and lured them into a relationship.

Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on October 5, granted divorce by a local court in Delhi from estranged wife Aesha Mukherji on account of his being subjected to mental cruelty. The judge accepted all the allegations made by Dhawan in the divorce petition against his wife. Mukerji subjected Dhawan to mental affliction by forcing him to live separately from their son for years. However, the permanent custody of son is with Aesha.

Netflix To File Plea Against ₹196 Cr Tax Demand

Online streaming major Netflix to file an appeal before the income tax appellate tribunal against the Rs 196 crore tax demand raised by the taxmen over alleged tax evasion. Netflix's move comes after the Dispute Resolution Panel (DRP) allowed the tax demand raised by its international taxation wing. The IT department had contended that Netflix Entertainment Services LLP acted as a dependent agent permanent establishment (DAPE) of Netflix.

Women's Reservation Bill Gets Approval Of President Murmu, Becomes Law

President of India Droupadi Murmu gave assent to the Women's Reservation Bill, which has now become a law. Tabled by the BJP-led Central Government, the Women's Reservation Bill was approved by the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha recently.
