India's Tricolour Hoisted at Times Square for the First Time
For the first time, the tricolour was hoisted at New York's Times Sqare on August 15 to celebrate India's 74th Independence Day. Over two hundred Indian-Americans participated in the celebration. One of the participants said, "We have gathered here for our [India's] 74th Independence Day. It is an honor and privilege to host it here and make history for our motherland for all the [Indian] diaspora around the world."
