Rahul Gandhi is reinstated as the Member of Parliament (MP) of Wayanad, Karnataka. The Supreme Court (SC) recently stayed the conviction orders of the Gujarat High Court (HC) against Rahul Gandhi, in the 2019 Modi Surname Defamation Case. The stay on Gandhi’s conviction made him eligible to return to the Lok Sabha, and had to wait for a formal order from the secretariat to re-enter the Lok Sabha.

Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, officially launched his national party, on the occasion of Dussehra, on October 5. Congress leaders including KC Venugopal, Digvijaya Singh, Ambika Soni, Randeep Surjewala, and other top leaders will meet with the interim president Sonia Gandhi on April 25. They will discuss election strategist Prashant Kishor's role and his proposal for the Indian National Congress's revival in the 2024 General elections. Speculations of poll strategist Prashant Kishore's induction into the Indian National Congress (INC) is making rounds. In regard to this, interim president Sonia Gandhi will take the final decision, on whether Prashant Kishore will join Congress for the 2024 elections or not, on April 19. Furthermore, recently, on April 18, Kishore met with Gandhi at her residence in Delhi, and it was their third meeting in the past few weeks.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee indicated on July 28 that BJD and YSRCP, which were skeptical of taking a side, may join the anti-BJP coalition ahead of the 2024 elections. "The BJP may be big in size, but the Opposition will be stronger from the political angle," she said. Though Banerjee avoided the question of leadership in the opposition front, she recognized the importance of Congress in it.

Aiming 2024 general elections, BJP President JP Nadda will go on a 120-day nationwide tour from December 5. Starting from Dehradun, Nadda will conduct virtual meetings with booth units in state wise manner. BJP general secretary Arun Singh has stated that Nadda would focus on those seats where BJP poorly performed in 2019 elections. Nadda will also review the election preparations in the upcoming four state assembly polls.
