26/11 Terror Attack: Mumbai Crime Branch Files New Charge Sheet With 5th Accused

The 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack is still fresh in people's minds, and an investigation into the deadliest terrorist attack, which killed hundreds of people, is underway. On September 26, the Mumbai Crime Branch filed a new chargesheet into the terror attack. The charge sheet filed under UAPA and IPC named Tahawwur Rana as fifth accused.  Rana, a Pakistani citizen with Canadian citizenship, is currently in jail in California.

26/11 Mumbai Attack: Leaders Pay Tribute To Victims & Security Personnel

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on November 26, termed the Mumbai 26/11 terror attack as a "cowardly" act while paying tribute to those who had lost their lives. About ten Lashkar-e-Taliban terrorists came to Mumbai via sea route from Pakistan and carried out a series of attacks across the city. Many political leaders across the country paid homage to the victims and security personnel who were brutally killed.

Pakistan Is Home For 12 Foreign Terrorist Organizations: US Report

Pakistan is home for at least 12 groups recognized as foreign terrorist organisations, said a US Congressional Research Service report. Five of these have been recognized as 'India-centric,' such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-i-Mohammed. 26/11 Mumbai Attacks: US Announces $5 Million Reward for Information on Mastermind

The US Rewards for Justice program released an official statement mentioning that informers of the whereabouts of the 26/11 attacker will be rewarded up to $5 million. According to the statement, any information that would lead to the arrest or conviction of Lashkar-e-Taiba member Sajid Mir will be eligible for the reward. The announcement comes twelve years after the attack where at least 166 people lost their lives.

26/11 Mumbai Attack Anniversary: Maharashtra Inaugurates Martyrs' Gallery

Honouring the security personnel killed in the line of duty, the Maharashtra government on November 26 instituted Martyrs' Gallery in the city. Inaugurated by Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, the gallery will exhibit the 797 martyred personnel including the ones killed in the 2008 Mumbai attack. The CM intended to institute alike monuments in other parts of the state as well. The event was attended by the family members of the martyrs.
