Reliance Jio, Adani group & Major Participates In 5G Telecom Spectrum Auction

Apple To Replace Qualcomm With Internal 5G Modems Raise Legal Issues

Apple bought Intel's modem group with the objective of eventually replacing Qualcomm with internal 5G modems. Formerly expected, but now highly improbable, is that Apple will switch to internal modems before the expiration period. The two patents have expiration dates of 2029 and 2030, respectively, and Apple's efforts to get them canceled ended on June 27 when the Supreme Court denied Apple's plea to revive the patent issue.

India Begins To Lay Groundwork For 5G Spectrum Auctions

India has started to lay the groundwork for the 5G spectrum auctions which is scheduled for later this year. The 5G mobile services, which will reportedly be rolled out within 2022-23, is expected to contribute at least $450 billion to the Indian economy. It is also expected to create various job opportunities across the country. According to union minister Vaishnaw, the 5G will be rolled out in August or September.

First 5G Call In India Tested At IIT Madras Using Domestically Created Technology

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology, placed the first 5G call on a trial network put up at IIT Madras using domestically produced technology on May 19. The complete end-to-end network, as per the minister, was conceived and constructed in India. He claimed it was an attempt to demonstrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to a self-sufficient India.

PM Modi To Launch 5G Test Bed To Mark 25 Years Of TRAI

PM Modi via video conferencing, will address a programme marking the silver jubilee celebrations of the establishment of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), on May 17. He will also launch the 5G Test Bed, developed at a cost of over Rs 220 crore. The 5G Test Bed has been developed by a total of eight institutes headed by IIT Madras, to support the next generation technologies.

Jio 5G Speed Test Results Leaked; Download, Upload Speed & More

The 5G network will be available by late 2022. Jio has stated that they have planned out the 5G coverage for 1000 top cities in the country. According to a leaked screenshot shared by 91Mobiles, Jio 5G which is at the testing stage, hit a download speed of 420 Mbps and an upload speed of 414 Mbps. With that speed, a two hour-long video can be downloaded in minutes.

Bangladesh Launches 5G Services, Trial Run At Six Sites
