Rajya Sabha Passes Election Laws (Amendment) Bill
Rajya Sabha passed the Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021, on December 21. However, opposition parties such as the Congress, DMK, TMC, RJD, Samajwadi Party, and BSP demanded the government to take it back. The bill proposes electoral reforms such as linking the Aadhaar with the voter ID card and applying for a voter ID card four times in a year. Notably, It's already been passed in the Lok Sabha.

Aadhaar, PAN Card Link Mandatory Before March 2022; Govt Extends Deadline
The date for linking Aadhaar and PAN cards has been extended by the government from September 30 to March 31, 2022. An extension of 6 months has been granted. Linking the PAN with the Aadhaar is mandatory to avoid making PAN inoperative. Inoperative means one would not be allowed to make transactions. Moreover, one can reach the e-filling website of the Income-tax Department to link the two.

Karnataka To Offer 55 Public Services At Doorstep Under 'Janasevaka'
On the lines of AAP-led Delhi government, Karnataka is planning to provide 55 government services at the citizens' doorsteps.
