Bombay HC Temporarily Halts Metro Car Shed Project At Kanjurmag
The metro car shed project in Mumbai's Kanjurmag has been put on hold by the Bombay High Court until further orders. The project was shifted to Kanjurmag from Aarey after environmentalists had protested against the BJP-led government last year. Mumbai's 'Metro Car Shed Project' To Relocate From Aarey, Moved to Kanjurmarg
Maharastra CM Uddhav Thackeray on October 11 declared the relocation of the 'metro car shed project', which was suppose to be build in Aarey forest region of Mumbai. The project has been moved to Kanjurmarg for which land allocation has been done already. Maharashtra Government to Declare 600 Acres of Aarey Land as Reserve Forest
The 600-acre Aarey land near Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai will soon be declared as a reserve forest. The Maharashtra CM Udhhav Thackeray on September 2 took the decision in this regard. CM also stressed for protecting the rights of tribals in the area. Reportedly, the decision will be implemented in a phased manner, with rehabilitation of slums withing the area being priority.
