Under 'PM Street Vendor's Atmanirbhar Nidhi' (PM SVANidihi) scheme, the Centre has received over 20 lakh applications. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that Aatmanirbhar Bharat aims to India's "greater engagement in global trade" and get equal access to international market. He said that India will no longer tolerate unfair trade practices and the government is working with states and local bodies to ease the process of starting a business. He added that the government believes in transparent pricing, free market, and no hidden subsidies.
