Karnataka HC Nullifies Siddaramaiah Govt's ACB, Pending Cases Transferred To Lokayukta Police

Karnataka High Court disbanded Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on August 11 and reassigned all pending proceedings before the ACB to Lokayukta Police division. IPS Officer Madhur Verma Appointed As ACB Head

Senior IPS officer of 2005 Batch Madhur Verma is the new head of the anti-corruption branch (ACB), confirmed officials on August 9. Prior to ACB Head, IPS Verma was an additional commissioner in the Delhi police’s armed department and succeeded Sunil Kumar Gautam. He also worked as the DCP of the crime branch in New Delhi's north district and was public relations officer of the Delhi Police till 2019.

Revenue Officer Arrested For Taking Bribe Of Rs 1.5 Lakh

In Jammu and Kashmir, a revenue officer was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from a tout for issuing documents of a plot of land. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Ashok Sharma, after carrying a sting operation.  The bribe case was registered against Sharma, as he demanded Rs 25 lakh for legal proceedings. Notably, the ACB is conducting an investigation and also arrested another Bhagat and tout.

ACB Arrests Thane Civil Hospital Clerk For Taking Bribe: Maharashtra

In Thane Civil Hospital, a 50-year-old clerk was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), on April 13.  The arrest was made after a victim registered a complaint that the accused demanded Rs 1,05,000 from the person for facilitating clearance of the latter's bills, said ACB in a release. Acting upon the complaint, the ACB planned a trap for the clerk and arrested him red-handed, at a hotel.
