Delhi Govt Launches New Initiative To Avoid Accidents, Ensuring Road Safety

Aiming for road safety in Delhi and avoiding accidents, the Dialogue and Development Commission (DDC) of Delhi launched a month-long ‘Tactical Urbanism Trial’. Wearing Seat Belt Mandatory For Passengers ; In Effect From Nov 1

In Maharashtra, a strict rule of wearing seatbelts mandatorily for all passengers travelling in a vehicle. The new rule under the Motor Vehicle Act will be in effect from November 1, confirmed Mumbai Police. "As per the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, under section 194(b) (1) Whoever drives a motor vehicle without wearing a safety belt or carries passengers not wearing seat belts shall be punishable." the issued notice read.

Nitin Gadkari Speaks About 6 Airbags Mandatory For Cars To Avoid Crashes

The Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nithin Gadkari spoke about bringing 6 airbags mandatory in India.  Addressing the media, Gadkari said, ""A draft notification has been issued on January 14, 2022, which mandates that vehicles of category M1, manufactured after October 1, 2022, shall be fitted with two side/side torso airbags, one each for the persons". He also said the Centre is making efforts to reduce crashes.
