FIFA-AFC Holds Joint Meeting With Stakeholders, Discusses AIFF Elections
A joint team of the FIFA and AFC met with the stakeholders of Indian Football on June 22. During the meeting the delegation emphasized on the need of a time frame regarding the All India Football Federation's (AIFF) elections and compliance with its statutes in the amended constitution. The AIFF team led by Datuk Seri Windsor John will have two members from FIFA Kenny Jean Marie and Nodar Akhalkatsi.

Jordan Defeats India In International Football Friendly Before AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers
India was defeated in an international football friendly against Jordan on May 28. Despite the comeback of Sunil Chhetri, India was defeated 2-0 by Jordan in the Qatar Sports Club Stadium. The match was India's final warm-up before the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup Qualifiers. In a Group D game, India will face Cambodia on June 8 in Kolkata.

AFC Asian Cup 2023 To Be Relocated Due To The Ongoing Covid-19 Outbreak In China
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in China, the AFC Asian Cup 2023, has been scheduled to be held somewhere else. Organized between June 16 and July 16, 2023, a 24-team competition was slated to take place in 10 cities. It comes amid China's decision to postpone the University World Games, Asian Games, and the Youth Asian Games, which were all scheduled to take place this year.

UAE Defeats India At AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers
India lost 0-1 to hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the second game of the AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers at the Fujairah Stadium in Dubai on October 27. Igor Stimac made just one change to the lineup that beat Oman 2-1 in their previous match, bringing in Lalengmawia in place of Aniket Jadhav. Due to an 82nd-minute spot-kick by Abdulla Idrees, the UAE managed to beat India.

AFC Asian Cup Emblem Disclosed At Shanghai's Pudong Stadium
China has unveiled the emblem of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup at Pudong Football Stadium in Shanghai. The emblem based on the original logo has been colored with red and yellow to represent China and its ''oriental civilization''. The 24 rays that encircle the emblem represent the football teams from 24 Asian nations. While the 10 beams coming out from rays represent the 10 host cities.

Delhi Metro Set To Expand NFC System To Pay Fare Through Mobile
To encourage cashless transactions, the Delhi Metro has planned to introduce near-field communication (NFC) system for passengers to pay for their journey through their mobile phones, using debit or credit cards. Reportedly, the service is currently available on the Airport Express line. All in all, passengers will get options such as a Smart card, National Common Mobility Card, mobile-based NFC, mobile QR code, and paper QR ticket.
