Taliban Plans To Pay Afghan Government Employees' Past-Due Salary

The Taliban-controlled Afghanistan government said on November 20, that the administration will be paying government workers' past-due salaries. According to reports, thousands of Afghan government employees owed at least three months of salary, one of the Taliban's numerous problems since taking control of the nation in August. However, it is unclear from where the money would come from to pay wages...reports.

Danish Siddiqui Was 'Brutally Murdered' By Taliban, Reports Claim

According to a report on July 29, Pulitzer Prize-winning Indian journalist, Danish Siddiqui was not killed during the crossfire between the Afghan forces and Taliban but "brutally murdered" by the latter. Reportedly, Siddiqui and three other Afghan troops sought hostage in a mosque after the 38-year-old was injured by shrapnel. Taliban reportedly attacked the mosque solely because of a journalist's presence there.

262 Taliban Terrorists Killed in Afghanistan, Claims Defense Ministry

At least 262 Taliban terrorists have been killed, 176 injured, and as many as 21 IED bombs were defused during an operation carried out by Afghan Forces in various provinces in the last 24 hours, claims the Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan. Reportedly, the Afghan government has imposed a curfew to restrict the Taliban from invading cities. The Afghan-Taliban feud escalated since the withdrawal of the American forces.

According to Pentagon, the United States military carried out airstrikes across Afghanistan to support the Afghan security forces who are fighting the Taliban alone. The Taliban, in recent days, has gained over many areas of Afghanistan by pushing back the Afghan military and taking over important territories. The defense officials reported that the US has carried out approximately six to seven airstrikes in the past 30 days.

Indian Photojournalist Danish Siddiqui Gets Killed in Taliban Attack

Pulitzer prize-winning Indian photojournalist, Danish Siddiqui has reportedly been killed during an attack by the Taliban on Afghan forces in Kandahar on July 15. Siddiqui who led the Reuters multimedia team was associated with the Afghan forces while covering the situation for the past few days. "Deeply disturbed by the sad news of the killing of Danish Seddiqui in Kandahar last night", tweeted Afghanistan's ambassador to India.
