Tripura Animal Resource Development Imposes Ban On Animal Slaughtering
To prevent animal cruelty, Tripura's Animal Resource Development Department Secretary Dr DK Debnath issued a notice on July 9. As per the notice, on the occasion of Eid-Al-Adha or Bakra Eid, no animal slaughtering will be allowed in rural, urban cities of Agartala, Tripura. Anyone found violating the law will attract punishment under the Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act 1960, and the Animal slaughtering prevention act.

Counting Of Votes For Tripura's Assembly By-Election Begins
Counting has begun after bypolls were conducted in four assembly constituencies in Tripura, on June 23. An average of 78.58% voter turnout was recorded in all four constituencies- Agartala, Town Bordowali, Surma and Jubrajnagar. The counting of votes is carried out with right security. Reportedly, during the bypolls, a cop was stabbed political miscreants caused minor atrocities.

11 MLAs Swear In As Cabinet Ministers In Tripura
In Tripura's newly formed Manik Saha led government, eleven MLAs sworn in as cabinet ministers, on May 16. Out of the eleven, nine were BJP MLAs and 2 were from IPFT. Governor SN Arya administered the oath taking ceremony. Reportedly, the portfolios of the cabinet ministers will be announced later. Sushanta Chowdhury, shortly after taking oath, said the new cabinet ministers would "fulfill the dreams" of former CM Biplab Deb.

2 Suspected Ukrainians Detained By Police In Assam
In Assam's Badarpur railway station, two foreigners, who are believed to be Ukrainian nationals, have been detailed by the police, on April 22. Cross Border Infiltrations Gone Down During COVID-19 Pandemic: IG Sushanta Kumar
Border Security Force (BSF) Tripura Frontier IG Sushanta Kumar Nath stated that the cross border infiltrations have gone down owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. He said, "a total of 221 infiltrators have been arrested while attempting to cross the borders illegally." The number was reportedly higher in 2018 and 2019. IG Sushanta Kumar Nath further stated that the total seizures made last year were worth Rs 35.64 crore.

Prashant Kishor's 23-Member I-PAC Team Detained In Tripura
Tripura Police on July 26 detained 23 members of election analyst Prashant Kishor's I-PAC team at Woodland Park Hotel in Agartala, the reason for their detention is still not confirmed. West Tripura's SP Manik Das, informed that the team was in the state for "some research-related work."
