Maharashtra: Agniveer's Body Brought To His Village For Last Rites

Maharashtra, last rites of Agniveer (Operator) Gawate Akshay Laxman begin after his mortal remains were brought today at his residence in Pimpalgaon Sarai village, Buldhana district. He is the first Agniveer who died in operations. He was deployed in the world’s highest battlefield Siachen Glacier. Moreover, recently GoI, announced to give compensation of over ₹1 crore, to families of Agniveer, died on line of duty.

Agnipath Scheme: Army Conducts Pre-Training For Aspirants In North Kashmir’s Baramulla

The Indian Army has organised a two-month pre-training program for Agniveer aspirants, in North Kashmir’s Baramulla. Youths from the said area, and surrounding areas, are taking part in the program, before enrolling for the Agniveer scheme. Indian Navy Receives Applications From Over 10,000 Women Under Agnipath Scheme

Over 10,000 women have registered for recruitment to Indian Navy under Agnipath scheme. The Indian Navy is yet to decide the final number of Naval Agniveers it will induct in 2022. Reportedly, the Indian Navy will open the online application process during July 15 to 30. This is the first time women are allowed to join the Naval forces and be deployed at warships.

The Agnipath scheme was introduced by the central government on June 14, which is a recruitment process for the Indian Armed Forces. Agnipath Scheme: Agniveers Will Have High Stature In Society, Says NSA Ajit Doval

National Security Advisor (NSA) of India Ajit Doval said that Agniveers after four years of service in the Indian armed forces, will have a "high stature in the society". He said that in the fast-growing Indian economy, there will be opportunities, even in for higher education. He further stated that the Agniveers will have age as their advantage, and will also be disciplined after the four-year engagement period.
