The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that monsoon will cover the whole of India by July 6. Notably, monsoon is yet to arrive in some parts including Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana. By June 30, monsoon had advanced into entire northwest India including Delhi. According to the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, "above-normal" rains will be witnessed across the country till July 7.

In UP's Pilibhit, two brother were electrocuted while irrigating their fields, on April 24. The deceased have been identified as Rajendra Prasad (54) and Rameshwar Dayal (46), both residents of Lalaur Gujranpur village. India has received market access to export fresh bananas to Canada with immediate effect. Also, in a month, following a technical update, India will also start exporting baby corn to Canada. The decision has been taken after negotiations were carried out between Agriculture Secretary Manoj Ahuja and Canadian High Commissioner HE Cameron Mackay, on April 7. The move is expected to benefit the Indian farmers abundantly.

In Maharashtra the non performing asset (NPA) improved with an increased credit score of the farmers, after the Maharashtra Government announced a loan waiver scheme. Amid COVID-19 pandemic, agriculture was the only sector to show highest growth. As per bankers and agriculture, finance experts, State witnessed both short and long term finances were increased by the banks.
