In a tragic incident, Prominent Orthopaedic doctor Mazheruddin Ali Khan, a relative of the AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi, shot himself dead in Hyderabad. According to sources, Ali Khan killed himself due to an alleged family dispute. He was 60 year old. Khan had a gunshot wound on the right side of his head and police have launched an investigation in the matter.
The BJP MLA Raja Singh's hate remark against Prophet Muhammed created controversy. Taking a dig at the "Gyanvapi Masjid" verdict, the AIMIM President Asauddin Owaisi said, the verdict is a violation of the Places of Worship Act 1991. On May 12, he said expressed disappointment in the Varanasi Court's judgment which allowed the survey of the masjid. Owaisi said, he lost one Babri Masjid and can't lose another masjid, urging the concerned authority to take the matter to the Supreme Court.
