Air India To Buy 250 Aircrafts From Air Bus

Tata Group-owned Air India will buy 250 aircraft, including 40 wide-body planes, from Airbus, confirmed Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran. On February 14, he said that Air India has signed a letter of intent to acquire 250 aircraft, the first time in more than 17 years. It is also the first order placed by the carrier under the ownership of Tata Group.

Delhi Court Grants Bail To Shankar Mishra In Air India Urination Case

A Delhi Court granted bail to accused Shankar Mishra in the Air India Urination Case. On January 31, the additional session court judge Harjyot Singh Bhalla granted bail to Mishra, who allegedly peed on an elderly woman on a New York- Delhi flight, on November 26. Furthermore, Mishra was given bail on a furnished bond of Rs 1 lakh.  Earlier, in January, Mishra was arrested and remanded.

Bombay HC Orders Air India Employees To Evacuate Mumbai Staff Quarters By September 24

Bombay High Court has allowed time for employees of Air India and other Unions to leave their staff quarters till September 24 since Ganesh Chaturthi is widely celebrated in Bombay. The airline personnel who had been living there since before the disinvestment were sent with eviction papers, but the Bench declined to overturn them. Air India Provides Massive Independence Day Offers For International Flights

For the first time, Indian Airlines, Air India is offering massive "Independence Day" offers on international flights. As per sources, for bookings between August 8 to August 22, prices for flights between Gulf and Middle East countries to Indian cities are as low as INR 7,171 approx. The tickets booked during the aforementioned duration will be applicable for travel till October 15, with 35 kgs of luggage allowed for passengers.

Air India Express Flight Diverts To Muscat After Burning Odor Discovered From Vent

An Air India Express aircraft from Calicut to Dubai was diverted to Muscat due to a problem on board on July 16. One of the vents was discovered emitting a burning odor. This is the second time in the past 24 hours that an aircraft from one of India's airlines had to change its route. An Indigo aircraft had made a precautionary stop in Karachi, Pakistan.

1985 Air India Bombing Accused Ripudaman Malik Shot Dead In Canada

Ripudaman Singh Malik, the one acquitted in an Air India terrorist bombing attack has been shot in Canada, confirmed officials on July 14.  Notably, Ripudaman was with co-defendant Ajaib Singh Bagri, who was found not guilty of conspiracy in a pair of Air India bombings on June 23, 1985, which killed 331 people. Meanwhile, the Canadian police suspected the death to be a targeted killing.

Air India Proposes To Re-Hire Pilots Post Retirement For 5 Years

Air India, which is controlled by the Tata Group, has decided to re-hire pilots after they retire for a five-year term as the airline seeks operational stability amid discussions of purchasing 300 single-aisle planes. The post-retirement contract as a commander in Air India will be for 5 years or until the age of 65. Prospective pilots have been instructed to submit their documentation, and written consent, by June 23.

Get Cheap Air Tickets On Govt Account With Prior Bookings: Finance Ministry

Air India To Undergo Significant Changes For Improving Customer Services

Air India will undergo considerable changes as a result of the Tata Group's acquisition, with the goal of increasing customer experience. Tata Group Forbids Smoking & Intake Of Intoxicating Substances In Workplace At Air India

After reclaiming ownership of Air India, the Tata group outlawed smoking and the usage of intoxicating substances at work, as per Suresh Dutt Tripathi, Air India's chief human resources officer (CHRO). “We would not like to make any comment on any internal communication like this,” stated an Air India representative.
