Global Warming, Climate Change Major Cause Of Preterm Babies Death
The recently released 'Born Too Soon: Decade of Action on Preterm Birth' report by WHO, UNICEF and Partnership for Maternal New Born and Child Health highlights myriad impacts of climate change to be the reason for detahs of preterm babies. As per the report, 90% babies of low income nations died of massive air pollution, as unlike rich countries, they make no contribution towards climate change and global warming.

Air Pollution To Increase Risk Of Developing ADHD In Children By 62%: Study
Children living in areas with air pollution have up to 62% increased risk of developing ADHD, said Barcelona Institute for Global Health researchers. "We observed that children living in greener neighborhoods with low air pollution had a substantially decreased risk of ADHD," said Matilda van den Bosch. Delhi's Air Quality Again Drops To 'Poor' Category With AQI Of 215: SAFAR
Delhi's AQI has again dropped to the 'poor' category on January 25, after showing slight improvement on January 24. Currently, Delhi's AQI is at 215 according to SAFAR. Notably, due to light rain, Delhi's AQI had improved. Earlier, the air quality also reached to 'hazardous' level, in the winter. Meanwhile, Noida's air quality remained in the 'moderate' category and Gurugram has improved with an AQI of 161 and 154, respectively.

Delhi's Air Quality Slips To 'Severe' Category With 431 AQI: SAFAR
Delhi's air quality has fallen into the "Severe" category, after reporting 430 AQI (Air Quality Index), said SAFAR on December 26. The situation worsened in 24 hours, from December 25's 398 AQI, which was "very poor" category to 430 AQI. In the past, the AQI of Delhi has been fluctuating, with efforts of Delhi Government and the Control Pollution Board to enhance it.

Delhi's AQI Remains Under 'Very Poor' Category With 319 AQI: SAFAR
After days of efforts, the Delhi Air Quality Index (AQI) is now under 'very Poor' category from the previous 'severe category'. On December 18, the National Capital recorded 319 AQI, reported SAFAR. Meanwhile, to control the AQI further, the Delhi Government extended ban on entry of non-essential trucks in the city, until further orders. Furthermore, the Government also announced to resume schools for classes 6 onwards, from December 18.

NGT Issues Notice To TN Govt Over Increasing Air Pollution In Chennai
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on December 10, directed the Tamil Nadu Government to file an action report, over Chennai pollution. The NGT bench, headed by Adarsh Kumar Goel ordered to form an action plan to prevent air pollution and worsening air quality. The bench also asked to file a detailed report for the same in the next hearing. The NGT decision came on the petition filed by LG Sahadevan.

Delhi's AQI Shows Improvement; Still In 'Poor' Category: SAFAR
Delhi's air quality index (AQI) improved from "very poor category" to "poor category", on December 8. The overall AQI of the national capital was 235, reported System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR). Delhi's AQI Remains Under 'Very Poor' Category: SAFAR
Delhi's air quality, on November 29, remained in the "very poor" category with a 370 Air Quality Index (AQI). Moreover, Mathur Road and Delhi University's AQI are at 406 and 416, respectively, reported to be "Severe Category" by SAFAR. AQI of Gurugram (369) and Noida (391) are also worsening under the "very poor" category. However, slight improvement is expected on November 29-30, due to high wind speed.
