Air Quality In Delhi Very Poor; AQI Reaches 339
Delhi's air quality has continued to deteriorate as the Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 339 on December 1. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientists, the AQI increment was due to dipping temperature. The IMD added that the wind speed, which is expected slow down from December 2, is likely to aggravate the issue. Air Quality Escalates in Delhi as AQI drops from 'Very Poor" to 'Moderate'
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) showed Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) dropped from 302 to 137 on November 27, proceeding to "moderate" category. As per the experts, strong winds and less stubble burning around the city were two reasons behind the better air quality. Delhi Air Quality Deteriorates to 'Severe' Day After Ignoring Cracker Bans
The national capital of India woke up to a smoggy morning on November 15, as the air quality turned "severe" in Delhi. Environment Minister Virtually Launches Biomass Plant To Curb Air Pollution
Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar virtually launched a demonstration of biomass plant at Pune. The plant produces compressed biogas from biomass which will help in curbing pollution. Delhi Witnesses 'Severe' Air Quality as Index Touches 452 Mark
The Central Pollution Control Board stated that Delhi's air quality became worse as it shifted to 'Severe' from 'Very Poor' on November 5. The city reported air quality Index score of 452 which is considered to affect the health of a normal person. One of the scientists from the Indian Meteorological Department mentioned that deposition of pollutants is not possible anytime soon as air is 'subsiding' in the city.

SAFAR Report Indicates Air Quality Improvement In Delhi
The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) on September 27 stated that the air quality in Delhi has improved due to the high wind speed. Reportedly, the ventilation conditions will remain 'moderate' for the next three days. SAFAR further added that the impact of farm fires in Punjab and the borders was negligible due to unfavourable wind direction and speed.
