GoI Imposes New COVID-19 Rules From Today

Amid a decline in COVID-19 cases worldwide, the Government of India (GoI,) issued new guidelines for those travelling to India from abroad. As per the new rules, signing 'Air Suvidha' form and mandate of pre-departure COVID-19 test is not required for those travelling from six countries. However, the random 2% testing of international passengers and arrivals from foreign countries will be same, in effect from February 13, 11 AM.

China Resumes Air Travel After 2-year Covid Ban, No Word On Flight Services To India

Following a two-year prohibition due to the COVID-19 outbreak, China has resumed foreign flights. Even though Beijing relaxed a visa restriction on Indian professionals and their families last month, there has been no indication of the return of flight services to India. China is expediting processes for people entering the nation by decreasing quarantine time to 7 days in selected hotels, followed by a 3-day isolation period at home.

Europe Likely To Ban Flights From South Africa; Omicron COVID Variant

US To Ease Restrictions For Vaccinated International Air Travelers In November

To ease tight pandemic-related restrictions that began in 2020, White House said on September 20 that US will reopen in November to air travelers. Travelers from 33 countries including China, India, and majority of Europe, who are properly vaccinated against COVID-19 are allowed. When Joe Biden's administration declared last week that it was not the proper time to relax any limitations, this decision by White House came as a surprise.

Domestic Aviation Industry To Allow 72.5% Passengers: MoCA

The Ministry of Civil Aviation announced on August 12 that it has increased the passengers’ capacity from 65% to 72.5% to fly in domestic airlines. The order came after the MoCA Jyotiraditya Scindia held a meeting on August 6 and said ''will remain in place until further order.'' Besides, people have to invest more in tickets as a separate order by the government has increased the airfare bands to 12%.

Domestic Air Travel To Get Dearer As Govt Hikes Fare Limits By 10-30%

The Civil Aviation Ministry has decided to increase the lower and upper limits on domestic airfares by 10-30% until March 31, 2021 or further orders. The increment will hike airfares along seven bands of flights based on different time durations. Earlier, in May 2020, the DGCA had ordered airliners to float 40% tickets of a flight between the lower and upper limits.
