Indian Air Force Took Delivery Of First C-295 Aircrafts From Spain

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Wednesday took the delivery of its first C-295 transport aircraft from Airbus Defence and Space, with Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari attending the handing over ceremony at Seville in Spain, officials aware of the matter said. The 16 aircraft is the first of the 56 such planes ordered by the IAF under a ₹21,935-crore project to modernise its transport fleet.

Air India To Buy 250 Aircrafts From Air Bus

Tata Group-owned Air India will buy 250 aircraft, including 40 wide-body planes, from Airbus, confirmed Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran. On February 14, he said that Air India has signed a letter of intent to acquire 250 aircraft, the first time in more than 17 years. It is also the first order placed by the carrier under the ownership of Tata Group.

Indian Airlines Faced 478 Technical Glitches In Past 1 Year: VK Singh

In between July 2021- June 2022, Indian aircraft faced 478 technical snags, revealed Union Civil Aviation Minister VK Singh, in the Rajya Sabha. Of all the crafts, Air India faced maximum, 184 glitches. "A total of 478 technical snags were reported in the last one-year w.e.f. July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022," said Singh. Besides Air India, Indigo reported 98 glitches, followed by Spicejet (77,) being third on the list.
