Packet With AK-47 Rifle Recovered Near International Border In Ferozepur
The Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab police recovered a fully wrapped packet with an AK-47 rifle near the International Border. The rifle is suspected to have come from Pakistan, and was found at a farm of a local farmer in Ferozepur. The packet contained “A1” written on it, indicating that other such supplies might exist. With this, the BSF is on a watch in the aforementioned area.

Unidentified Boat With AK-47, Rifles Found On Harihareshwar Shore
In Raigad, an unidentified boat with AK-47, rifles and bullets was found on the shore of Harihareshwar at Shrivardhan, said district management. On August 17, the lifeboat was found on the shore of Mauje Bhardakhol with weapons, but no person was on the boat. Notably, Harihareshwar is about 200 km from Mumbai and 170 km from Pune. The police have launched an investigation and are inspecting the weapons.

Arrested RJD Leader Anant Singh's State Assembly Membership Revoked
In the AK-47 recovery case, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Anant Singh was revoked from him membership as a member of the state assembly. He was convicted after an AK-47 rifle, two hand grenades and 26 live cartridges were recovered from his Bihar residence in 2019. An FIR was filed against him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and was convicted for the same.

Jharkhand Police Arrests Top Maoist & 5 Associates; Seizes AK-47
A member of prohibited CPI-Maoist Prasant Majhi, with his five associates, have been arrested by the Jharkhand Police near Khukhra police station. The police have arrested five associates including two women and also confiscated an AK-47 rifle from the arrested. Uganda: 219 Prisoners Escape With Weapons; Two Killed in Search Operation
About 219 prisoners escaped from a prison in Uganda, late on September 16, along with 15 AK-47 rifles and other weapons. A military spokeswoman stated that the two prisoners were killed in a re-capturing operation and search for others is underway. "It is a mass escape, it included murderers robbers and rapists", she said. This is the third prison escape in the country since the outbreak of COVID-19 in March.
