Akash Missile's Latest ‘Akash Prime’ Successfully Destroys Unmanned Target
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on September 27, successfully tested a new version of the Akash Missile – "Akash Prime" Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha. DRDO Test Fires Surface-To-Air Akash Missile From Coast Of Odisha
The new generation Akash surface-to-air missile system was successfully flight-tested by the DRDO from a test range off the Odisha coast. According to the defense ministry, the missile was test-fired around 12:45 PM on July 21. “Once deployed, the Akash-NG weapon system will prove to be a force multiplier for the air defense capability of the IAF,” the Ministry said. The missile can fly at about Mach 2.5.
