WHO Alerts For Another Deadlier Than COVID-19 Pandemic

The head of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, issued a warning that the world must get ready for the next pandemic, which might be "even deadlier" than the COVID-19 pandemic, at a time when COVID cases are somewhat stabilising around the world. "The end of COVID-19 as a global health emergency is not the end of COVID-19 as a global health threat," Mr Tedros said.

Search For Amritpal Singh Enters Day 5, Police On Alert

The search for wanted Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh entered the fifth day, on March 22. The Punjab Police, a team of 80,000 cops, are after Singh, who allegedly escaped the police. Delhi Yamuna River Crosses Danger Mark, Evacuation Process Underway

Authorities in Delhi started evacuating people living in the low-lying areas near the Yamuna banks, as the water level in the river rose to 206.18 metres, much above the danger mark of 205.33 metres.  The concerned officials started the evacuation on September 27, amid the danger mark, the highest this year so far. East Delhi District Magistrate Anil Banka is conducting the evacuation process and alerted people.

BMC Takes Serious Note Of Lumpy Skin Disease Amongst Cattles

Amid the spread of lumpy skin disease in cattle, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) adopted precautionary measures for animals. Notably, the BMC teams consisting of officers and employees will start visiting various cattle sheds in Mumbai, and issuing notices to cattle shed owners. The BCM officials will also see if cattle sheds are unclean and provide medical treatment to the animals found infected with the diseases.

Yamuna River Water Level Crosses Danger Mark, Delhi Authority Issues Alert

The concerned authority in Delhi issued an alert after the water level of the Yamuna river breached the danger mark of 205.33 metres. The major cause is due to the heavy rain in upper catchment areas, prompting authorities to chalk out a strategy to evacuate people from low-lying areas. Kolkata On Alert Amid Cyclone, KMC Cancels Staff Leaves

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) issued alerts for employees and disaster management teams amid the formation of cyclonic storm Asani.  The cyclone is likely to intensify further into a severe cyclone, said mayor Firhad Hakim on May 8. Furthermore, leaves of all the employees have been cancelled and were alerted to deal with the cyclone, likely on May 9,10.  The cyclone will bring heavy rainfall in the city.

Punjab Police Recovers Explosives & Grenade Ahead Of R-Day: Gurdaspur

The Punjab Police seizes a grenade launcher with two compatible grenades, 3.79 kg RDX, nine detonators, and two sets of timer devices from Gurdaspur. All that was seized could cover a range of 150 meters and could be detrimental to the VVIP security, reported an official statement.
