Bus Falls Off Flyover In UP's Aligarh; 1 Dead, 25 Injured
In Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh, a bus veered off a flyover, on July 29. The bus was carrying around 30-40 passengers on board, and around 25 have been admitted to a hospital after sustaining injuries. Reportedly, one person died in the accident. According to the Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, the bus was bound to reach Farrukhabad. Further details on the matter is awaited.

Auto Driver & Friends Rape 30-Year-Old Passenger: Aligarh
A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an autorickshaw driver, his helper and another passenger, the police said on April 15. Reportedly, the woman hired the auto from Aligarh bus stand to go to her native village, situated 15 km from the city. Then the driver and his helper picked up another passenger along the way, and drive straight to a remote area where they robbed and raped her.

Aligarh College Bans Entry Of Hijab-Wearing Students
After the Hijab row in Karnataka, Shree Varshney College in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh also refused to give entry to Muslim girls wearing hijab. In addition, the college had issued a notice to this extent on March 12. "We only want students to follow the rules and regulations of the college. We are following directions,'' said Anil Varshney, the college proctor. Previously, wearing burqa was ban, now hijab too, said a student.

Businessman In Etah Shot Dead By Motorcyclists: UP
Businessman Sandeep Gupta (55) was killed by motorcycle-borne shooters on December 27, said SHO of Vijay Singh of Aligarh's Kwarsi police station. Reportedly, the Etah businessman was traveling in a car when the shooters intercepted him and fired several bullets from outside the car. Gupta was rushed to a local hospital and was declared dead upon arrival.

Newlywed Groom In UP Stabbed To Death For Liquor By Friends
In Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district, a newlywed man has been stabbed to death by his friends for not providing them with alcohol. The 28-year-old Bablu was unable to arrange liquor for his friends, whom he visited soon after his marriage. In a heated argument, one of the drunk friends attacked and stabbed Bablu. UP Man Killed For Not Offering Rs 200
In Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh, a 30-year-old man was shot down for refusing to offer Rs 200 to an acquaintance. Suspicions Rise As AMU Denies Service Extension To Doctor Who Denied 'No Rape' In Hathras Case
Dr Azimuddin Malik, who had rejected the UP Police's “no rape” theory in the Hathras rape case was denied an extension in his service at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Malik, a temporary doctor at AMU claimed that the samples were collected 11 days after the incident and had no evidentiary value. Reportedly, his service ended on October 10. However, AMU authorities have denied any relation between the incidents.
