PM Modi Stresses On Farm Laws Deferment Offer At All-Party Meet

PM Narendra Modi stressed on the Centre’s offer to defer the farm laws for 18 months in the pre-budget all-party meet called on January 30. Saying that the government is just a "phone call away” for talks with farmers, he expressed the Centre's commitment towards ending the impasse with a dialogue. As for violence at the Red Fort on the Republic Day, he said the "law will take its own course."

PM Modi Says COVID Vaccination Soon After Experts' Approval

PM Narendra Modi has said on December 4 that if experts give permission, then nation's COVID-19 vaccination program will begin soon. Addressing an all-party meet, PM Modi has also stated that scientists are positive about the successful production of the vaccine. PM Modi added that the world is looking at India for the cheapest and safe vaccine. Moreover, he has informed that the vaccines would be priced considering the public.

Odisha: Speaker Takes Stock of Arrangements for Assembly's Monsoon Session

Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker SN Patro on September 21 took stock of the arrangements made for the monsoon session. He mentioned that all the legislators will have to undergo COVID-19 tests two days before the session, and senior members would be allowed to participate through a video conference. He has also called an all-party meeting on September 25 to discuss details and decide on the 'Question Hour' and 'Zero Hour'.

Conventional All-Party Meet Cancelled Before Parliament Session

The Union government has cancelled the traditional 'all-party meet' before the Parliamentary session in wake of the COVID-19. However, the Business Advisory Committee, comprising of representatives of all parties that have more than 3 MPs, will meet on September 13 and the issues pertaining to 'no question hour' and the 'India-China border disputes' are likely to be raised. The Parliament's Monsoon Session will start from September 14.
