Family Of 4 Arrested For Cow Slaughter In Chhattisgarh’s Manendragarh

In Chhattisgarh’s Manendragarh, police arrested four persons for allegedly slaughtering cow. Reportedly the accused belonged to the same family. The police have also confiscated the weapon, with which the slaughter was committed. The police upon reaching the spot, found the cow’s carcass. A case has been filed against the accused under Cruelty to Animals Act. The police further stated that the family hail from Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad.

Azam Khan Granted Interim Bail In Case Of Wrongful Possession Of Waqf Board Property: UP

Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan has been granted interim bail by Allahabad High Court in a case related to wrongful possession of land, on May 10. Reportedly, the bail order has been granted after obtained surety of Rs 2 lakh. The land involved is reportedly a waqf board property. Khan was lodged in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur jail for 2 years, before obtaining bail, reported PTI

SC Collegium Sends 68 Names To Centre To Fill Vacancies In HCs

Three-member Collegium led by the Chief Justice NV Ramana has recommended 68 names, including 10 women, to the Centre to fill the vaccines in Indian High Courts. As of September 1, there were vacancies of 281 permanent judges and 184 for Additional judges in 25 Indian High Courts. The Allahabad High Court has 68 vacancies, followed by 40 each in Punjab & Haryana and 36 in Calcutta.

UP's Prayagraj Gets Treatment Plant That Converts Plastic Into Diesel

To promote a clean environment, a factory has been set up in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj that converts plastic waste into fuel. Inaugurated by Prayagraj Municipal Corporation Mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi, the plant processes approximately 400-500 metric tons of garbage from the city. PMC engineer Uttam Verma said the plant operated by PMC will generate around 1200-1400 litres of diesel from two quintals of plastic waste daily.
