ASI Team Is In Gyanvapi Mosque Complex For Survey

The Gyanvapi Mosque survey started in the early morning of August 4, and a 41-member ASI team is conducting the survey. Notably, the conduct of the survey started a day after the Allahabad High Court upheld the verdict of the lower court which allowed the ASI team to conduct the survey of the mosque. As per sources, a group of Hindu organizations filed a plea seeking survey, claiming Hindu ancients.

Allahabad HC Allows ASI Survey Of Gyanvapi Mosque

The Allahabad High Court on August 3, announced its verdict in the Gyanvapi Mosque case. The court has allowed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) of Gyanvapi Mosque premises. The decision is a big win for the Hindu side. The Allahabad High Court dismissed the Muslim side's plea to stay the ASI survey of the mosque. Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side said, Allahabad HC has ordered ASI Survey.

Allahabad HC Confirms Jail Sentence For Man Who Maimed Private Parts Of 4-Year-Old Girl

Allahabad High Court affirmed the sentence of a man who mutilated the private parts of a four-year-old child in 1988 and was convicted by a sessions court under two sections of Indian Penal Code. The court denied the appeal filed by one Ishrat who was convicted by sessions Judge. The conduct was "committed out of severe sexual lust and sadistic approach," said HC, and the appellant does not deserve mercy.

SC To Examine Alt News Zubair's Petition For Protection From Arrest

Supreme Court will hear a plea filed by Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair seeking protection from arrest on July 8. It will also examine the plea against Allahabad High Court's decision to uphold the FIR filed after he reportedly referred to three Hindu seers in a tweet as "hate mongers." Zubair further requested that the probe be halted and UP police not "proceed, prosecute, or arrest" him based on FIR.

Allahabad HC Directs Parliament, Election Commission To Remove Criminals From Politics

Allahabad High Court directed the Parliament and the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take proactive measures to "remove criminals from politics" and destroy the corrupt link between criminals, politicians, and bureaucrats. The remarks were made while refusing bail for BSP MP Atul Kumar Singh a.k.a. Atul Rai. The Lucknow police had charged Rai with aiding in the suicide of a girl and her witness outside the Supreme Court.

SCC Approves Appointment Of 10 Additional Judges As Permanent Judges To Allahabad HC

The Allahabad High Court will now get ten additional judges as permanent judges. The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the proposal for their appointments. The permanent judges who have been approved by the Supreme Court are Sanjay Pachori, Subhash Sharma, Subhash Chand, Saroj Yadav, Mohammad Aslam, Anil Ojha, Sadhna Rani, Syed Rizvi, Ajai Tyagi and Ajai Srivastava.

Yogi Govt Challenges Acquittal Of Ex-Minister Gayatri Prajapati In POCSO Case: Uttar Pradesh

Disappointed with the Allahabad HC, the Uttar Pradesh Govt challenged the acquittal of former state minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati under the POCSO Act. Notably, Prajapati was arrested and sent to jail in March 2017 on charges of gang-raping a woman from Chitrakoot district and attempting to rape her minor daughter.
