Former Gurdwara 'Granthi' Thrashed, Hair Cut By Unidentified Assailants In Rajasthan

An unidentified assailant allegedly assaulted and chopped the hair of a former "granthi" of gurdwara Gurubaksh Singh in Rajasthan's Alwar on July 22. A "granthi" is a ceremonial reader of the Sikh holy book. Tejaswani Gautam, Superintendent of Police in Alwar, believes Singh was targeted because of a historical feud between Sikhs and Meo Muslims in Alawada village over supposed love relationships. Further investigation is underway.

Massive Fire Breaks Out At Vegetable Market In Rajasthan's Dholpur; Over 12 Shops Burnt To Ashes

In Rajasthan's Dholpur district, a massive fire broke out in a vegetable market, on July 17. The fires left over a dozen shops burnt to ashes. Immediately after the incident, several fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire. No casualties have been reported and further details are awaited. Earlier in March, airforce choppers were deployed to douse the fire which broke out in Rajasthan's Alwar district.

3 Govt Officials Suspended Over Alwar Temple Demolition

The Congress-led Rajasthan government has suspended three government officials, in connection with the Alwar temple demolition. Among the officials are a Sub-Divisional Magistrate, the Chairman of the Rajgarh Municipality Board and the Nagar Panchayat Executive Officer. 16-Year-Old Raped In Rajasthan's Alwar District; 4 Arrested Including 1 Minor

In Rajasthan's Alwar district, a minor girl (16) was allegedly raped, confirmed police on April 21. As per PTI, the incident happened on April 19, near the victim's house. The SHO registered a case based on the complaint filed by the victim's father and arrested the four accused, including one minor who has been booked under the relevant sections of IPC, and an investigation is underway.

Winter In Rajasthan Intensifies; Temperature Drops To 4.5 Deg C

Rajasthan's Churu recorded a minimum temperature of 4.5 degrees Celsius as cold conditions became extreme in the state. The temperatures also saw a dip of 1-4.5 degrees in the state. 21-Year-Old Gang-Raped In Rajasthan, FIR Registered After Two Years

After two years of a gang rape incident, the Rajasthan police has finally registered the complaint of a 21-year-old girl on June 28. The victim claimed that she was kidnapped and gang-raped by two people, who also taped the incident in order to blackmail her. Reportedly, the girl had approached the police in 2019 but was unheard of. However, she approached again when a third unknown man tried to blackmail her.
