Delhi HC Approves OTT Release Of 'Shamshera', Asks Makers To Deposit Rs 1 Cr

The Delhi High Court has allowed the release of Ranbir Kapoor-starrer film 'Shamshera' on OTT platforms subject to Yash Raj Films depositing Rs. 1 crore with its registry. On August 19, tice Jyoti Singh passed the orders on a lawsuit by Bikramjeet Singh Bhullar alleging infringement of his copyright in the literary work 'Kabu na chhadein Khet' by the filmmakers. Sequel To "Who's The Boss?" Featuring Alyssa Milano, Tony Danza Premieres On Amazon's Freevee

The sequel to 'Who's the Boss?' will be available shortly on Amazon's Freevee streaming service. The original series' stars, Alyssa Milano and Tony Danza are slated to return to their roles. The new version will concentrate on Samantha Micelli, a single mother played by Milano. There is no word on whether Judith Light and Danny Pintauro will reprise their roles; another original cast member, Katherine Helmond, died in 2019.

NCLAT Declines Amazon's Appeal Against Order Passed By CCI For Suspending FCPL Deal Approval

National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) dismissed Amazon's appeal against CCI's judgment on June 13. The CCI suspended two-year-old permission for Amazon's deal with Future Coupons Pvt Ltd (FCPL) in December, claiming that Amazon had withheld information when seeking clearances for the transaction at the time. NCLAT bench agreed with CCI's ruling that Amazon had not made full disclosures of the content to the Commission. Android Users Can No Longer Buy Kindle Books Via App

Android users will no longer be able to buy Kindle books via the Amazon app. When an Android user tries to purchase a Kindle book on Amazon now, a message pops up that says, "...you will no longer be able to buy new content from the app." The move does not affect iOS users, as they were not allowed to buy books via the iOS Amazon app anyway.

Amazon India Shortlists 16 Brands In Initiative To Help Local Start-Ups: AGSP

Out of 1000 start-ups that applied, from over 150 cities in India, 16 have been selected as finalists for Amazon's second season of Global Selling Propel Accelerator (AGSP), on April 14. The idea of the aforesaid initiative by Amazon India, is to provide a much needed support to emerging start-ups in India. The shortlisted companies will reportedly stand a chance to win $100,000 total equity free grant from Amazon.

Amazon Delivers Fake Apple Watch To Customer

A customer purchased an Apple Watch Series 7 priced at Rs 50,999 from Amazon and received a Chinese counterfeit instead. A Twitter user named Mk Kaur shared Amazon's response to her complaint and revealed that Amazon has refused to return her money. Notably, an Amazon spokesperson recently told that the customer will get her money back along with a gift card worth Rs 1000, as a goodwill gesture.
